I coordinate the charitable efforts at the LYS I work at. The owner of our shop wrote to Oprah’s Angel Network about donating yarn & needles to those in shelters due to Katrina. Knititng is so relaxing and theraputic that if I just suddenly lost all connection to my craft, I would be bereft.
Oprah’s office called yesterday and stated that the biggest need they have right now is getting knitted & crocheted items for the homes buing re-built in the area. They need pillows, rugs, curtains, placemats, rugs, potholders…anything knitted/crocheted that could be used to cozy up a home!
